Kim Burgdorf-Hall is a
former competitive
gymnast herself who has
been coaching gymnastics
for 15 year. She has
taught all levels and
ages of men's and
women's gymnastics. As
Director of the
Preschool programs and
special activities for
the past 7 years, her
enjoyment in coaching
gymnastics to children
continues to be
fulfilled. She has
participated in training
clinics with such
gymnastic experts as
Bela Karolyi, Scott
Johnson, Tom Koll and
Jeannie McCarthy. Kim is
happily married with a
teenage son who also
loves gymnastics.
David Frazier
Martial Arts Director
Master David Frazier is a
sixth degree black belt in
both Tae Kwon Do and Hap
Kido. He has been
instructing students for
over 20 years, all the while
continuing his own training.
Master Frazier teaches both
Tae Kwon Do (basic use of
kicks and hands) as well as
Hap Kido (self defense based
martial art).

USAG Team Coaches
Nick Hand- Women's Gymnastics Team Director

Nick Hand is the Head Coach
of the SLGC USAG Women's
Team. Nick is originally
from the Chicago area and
was a member and team
captain of the University of
Illinois at Champaign-Urbana
Men's Gymnastics Team, and a
four year Varsity Letter
winner. Nick began coaching
gymnastics while he was
still in high school and has
coached women's competitive
gymnastics for many years,
most recently as the
Director and Head Girls Team
Coach at the Champaign
County YMCA. Nick is looking
forward to coaching at SLGC.
Laura Faintich- Women's Team
Coach

Laura Faintich
is the Head Coach of SLGC
Women's Gymnastics Team.
Laura began her coaching
career at SLGC in 1999 and
is the Women's Team Levels 9
and 10 head coach for all
events. She also
creates the beam and floor
choreography for Levels
7-10. Laura trained as
a gymnast at Team Central
and competed as a Level 10
placing 6th & 8th on Floor
Exercise at Level 10
National Championships.
Laura won many state and
regional titles throughout
her career and received a
full athletic scholarship to
the University of Missouri,
Columbia.
Amy King - Women's Team Coach

Amy King has been coaching team
gymnastics at SLGC since
1999. She is currently
the Levels 7 & 8 beam and
floor coach. A native
of Webster Groves, Amy was
an optional gymnast at SLGC.
Amy graduated from the
University of Missouri, St.
Louis, with a degree in
elementary education.
Amy was married to husband Nick
since 2005, and had a son
Braden in June of 2008.
Darrell Hazelwood - Women's Team Coach

Darrell began coaching
gymnastics at SLGC in 1989.
He was the Head Coach of the
USAG Women's Team for 12
years. Currently, he
coaches the women's optional
levels on bars, vault, and
trampoline. He has a
Master's Degree in Theology
from Covenant Seminary.
Jenny Polk - Women's Team Coach

Jenny Polk has been coaching
competitive gymnasts since
1992. Currently, Jenny
coaches Women's Team Levels
7 & 8 in bars and vault.
Jenny has a Bachelor's
Degree in Elementary
Education and a Master's in
Special Education.
Jenny is a Chief in the Navy
and has 20 years in the Navy
Reserves. She has one
daughter, Bree, who is a
former Level 10 gymnast at
SLGC.
Carrie Hubbell - Women's Team Coach

Carrie Hubbell, who is in
her 6th year of coaching at
SLGC as the Women's Team
Levels 5 and 6 vault and
bars coach, has been a
gymnastics instructor since
2000 in CA and MO. As
a Level 10 gymnast, she
qualified for J.O. Nationals
four times. Carrie
earned a full scholarship to
the University of Illinois,
Chicago, from which she
graduated with a B.A. in
Exercise Physiology with a
concentration in Athletic
Training.
Wendy Martin - Women's Team Coach

Wendy Martin, who is responsible for the instruction of the Level
5 and 6 Women's Team
members, began coaching at SLGC in 1999. Wendy herself started gymnastics
at the age of 7 and competed as a Level 9 gymnast at SLGC. While attending
the University of Missouri in Columbia, Wendy was a USAG team coach and the
Instructional Program Coordinator at Show Me Gymnastics. Wendy is also a
TA at Westchester Elementary school in Kirkwood.
Wendy will be getting
married to Richie in March
of 2009.
Megan Feldmeier - Women's Team Coach

Megan Feldmeier,
who is a preschool teacher,
has been a coach at SLGC
since 1998. She
coaches Level 4 and was
herself a gymnast for five
years. She was also a
USAG Trampoline & Tumbling
coach for one year.
Men's Gymnastics Team Coaches
Mike Filla - Men's Gymnastics Team Director

Mike Filla is the Head Coach of the SLGC
USAG Men's Team.
Currently, Mike personally
coaches the Levels 7, 9 &
10. While at the
University of Illinois at
Champaign-Urbana, Mike was a
member of the University's
Men's Gymnastics Team (from
1999-2004) and a four year
Varsity Letter winner.
Mike graduated with a
Bachelor of Science Degree
in Finance and works as an
accountant. Mike
attended DeSmet Jesuit High
School and was Missouri
State Men's Gymnastic
Champion in 1999.
Danny Fetzner - Men's Team
Team Coach

Danny
Fetzner, the SLGC Men's Team
Assistant Head Coach, has
been involved in the sport
of gymnastics since he was
4. He competed up
through Level 9 and then
became a diver.
However, his passion remains
gymnastics and coaching the
sport. Danny who is in
his tenth year of coaching,
was raised in Champaign,
Illinois, and went to
Parkland Community College.
At SLGC, Danny coaches Level
6 of the USAG Men's Team,
Men's Team Future Stars, US
Team Girls, and a trampoline
& tumbling class.
Travis
Kitchen - Men's Team
Coach

Travis Kitchen who, as
Assistant Coach, works with
the Level 4 - 6 USAG Men's
Team members, has coached at
various times for SLGC since
1994. He also coaches
Level 4-6 Women's
Unsanctioned Team gymnasts.
Travis trained at SLGC and
was State Champion from
1996-1998. He was an
Alternate National Team
member in 1998 and went on
to J.O. Nationals five
times. Travis obtained his
Bachelor's of Fine Arts
degree with a concentration
in Dance from Temple
University where he not only
competed for Temple's NCAA
Team but also coached
during the 2006-07 season.

Michelle Redford

Michelle Redford, who has
been coaching gymnastics in
the St. Louis area since she
was 15, grew up in St.
Charles and attended the
YMCA there for 12 years.
Michelle enjoys coaching all
levels of gymnastics from
pre-school through Level 10.
Married to husband Jeff
since 1999, Michelle has two
boys, Carter and Mason.
Colleen Dempsey - Girl's
Unsanctioned Team Coach
Colleen Dempsey has been a
part of the SLGC since 2001.
She began coaching
recreational gymnastics in
2004 and unsanctioned team
in 2005. Colleen is
currently a student at
Meramec Community College.
Colleen loves spending time
with her baby daughter,
Haley.
Meg Nash -
Girl's
Unsanctioned Team Coach
Meg Nash is currently a
US Girls' Team coach specializing in beam, a position she has
held since 2001. Meg herself was a gymnast in Connecticut and was
coached for a period of time by Marta Karolyi. Meg and Tim whom she has
been married since 1992,
have three children:
Kelly, a level 7 gymnast,
Molly a level 4 gymnast and
Maggie. Meg also
teaches art and previously
worked on the comic strip
"Prince Valiant" with her
late father.
Emily Reid -
Girl's
Unsanctioned Team Coach'
Emily Reid, who is currently a Fine Arts major at Fontbonne University, has coached
gymnastics at SLGC since the spring of 2002. She herself studied
gymnastics at SLGC from age 6-13 after which she competed levels 5-8 at Planet
Gymnastics until she was 17. Emily, a Webster Groves native, coaches
recreational classes in
addition to the US Girls'
Team team. Emily specializes in
coaching the floor exercise.
Luke Permowicz -
Boy's
Unsanctioned Team Coach
Luke is a
17 year old junior at Webster Groves High School and was a gymnast for seven
years who competed level 7 here at SLGC. Currently, Luke coaches the
Future Stars and the Recreational Team. He has also worked with the level
4 & 5 Men's team gymnasts. Luke wants to attend The University of Central
Missouri and major in actuary science.
Bernie Nester - Boy's
Unsanctioned Team Coach
Bernie,
who is currently a junior at
St. Louis University High
School, was a gymnast for 8
years at SLGC. He
competed at Level 8, has
coached at SLGC since 2007
and coaches the US Boys'
Team. Bernie plans to
attend college and to study
physical therapy.
